AboutHi! I am a web developer living in the Seattle area. I specialize in Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP (LAMP) development which means I do everything from setting up environments, architecting databases, deciding on things like caching, deployment, testing, scalability, security, and then trying to make things less static with JavaScript with things like jQuery and YUI. I get really excited about solutions that involve complex object-oriented solutions. I've worked for a game studio called ArenaNet, which is known for it's Guild Wars franchise, and a few local startups finding innovative and exciting ways to bring services and features to our users. I have a wife and two kids whom I love very much. I dislike having a list of things I love to do and not to do but I will share the cursory list of things. Let's see... music is everything from classical to electronic. Electronic is vague so I'll list off house, techno, industrial, trance and hard variation of those sub genres. I like non-fiction books from the time of the Franco-Prussian War to the end of Dwight Eisenhower's presidency. Example? William Manchester's "Arms of Krupp". Movies of all subject matter interest me but I have an affinity for war films. Some of my favorites are Hunt for the Red October, Gran Tourino, Der Untergang, Underworld, Indiana Jones and Lord of the Rings. I consider myself to have Libertarian ideals especially in view of civil liberties but I realize that one extreme isn't the answer to all our problems. I like machinery like trains and cars and I share that with my son. I'd like to restore my 1973 Mercedes 450 SEL which is currently parked inside my parents' garage. I like gadgetry but as one would guess I really enjoy fiddling with computers and other electronics. Games have been a persistent hobby since I got a Nintendo Game Boy all those years ago. My favorite games are Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Panzer General 1 & 2, Day of Defeat, Ace Combat 4 & 6, and Metal Gear Solid 2 & 4. I like visiting my heritage whether it be through film and music or traveling but I am also extremely into seeing and trying new things which makes me a huge fan of things like alternative fashions such as latex, going out and trying new foods, or meeting new people. I started this site a few years back as an online journal but over time it's evolved. I want to have somewhere to talk about all the various things I am passionate about. Take music, for instance, I have tons of music I listen to but I also play music and I love to create music. Each of those things can have lots to write about and share. I love to program and solve problems. Learning new things is an awesome gift every time it happens. As I live, work, and play I like to share what I have done and seen.
